Matthew 6 tells us to pray - not for show but for personal private communication with God.  This is followed by a "sample" prayer which the Lord Himself provided as an example for us.

Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into his harvest. Matthew. 9:38

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Matthew 21:22

We should be in prayer always, in any set of circumstances - And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.  Acts 16:25

Be careful (anxious) for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

Pray without ceasing.
1 Thessalonians 5:17

God cares about the smallest things which concern you and He is able to handle the largest.

He is never too busy to listen to the weakest Child's prayer.

He even numbers the very hairs on our heads.

Our Lord Jesus prayed - "And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray" - Matt 14:23

And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.  Luke 6:12

And He is praying for Christians today - I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. John 17:9

I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. John 17:15

At times we are without words at prayer time.  The burden may be great or the heart heavy, but He knows and to this He says - Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.  Romans 8:26
