After the quake, many, many items were donated to the team to take to the DR with
them. Items ranging from health and beauty aids to school
supplies to Gospel tracts, and many medical supplies which were
donated from 3 separate organizations on behalf of the victims
of the Haitian earthquake.
The missions are coordinated through
Score International
who says:
“SCORE International is a ministry to expose people
to short term missions.
The purpose of SCORE International is to
evangelize, encourage missionaries, and equip participants to do
the work of foreign missions.
Our goal is to produce
career
missionaries and/or create greater partnerships between local
churches in the USA and foreign missionaries.
God has
allowed us to start churches as a result of dental/medical teams
going to villages where there is no Gospel witness. Amazingly,
entire populations of villages wait to see physicians and
dentists. Once treated, these people are very open
to the Gospel
of Christ.”
In 2011 a member of our church went again to the DR, this
time for 2 weeks and for the first time SCORE was able to get
the medical teams into 2 prisons there.
Some local pastors had been doing a work there and God was
collecting souls as we saw many, many hungry souls come to
Christ.
We worked in a city and some villages also and found it also
eternally rewarding and it was amazing to be a part of the huge
work God is doing in that country!
